Control in Online Poker

I’m what you may call a relatively “old hand” in Texas Hold ‘em poker: I have been playing the game for almost a decade, both in casual home games and in casinos. What I love about the game it the sense of control that it gives me; unlike other games of chance where the outcome is basically out of the player’s hands, Texas Hold ‘em poker is more of a skill game where winning is determined by the choices the player makes.

I’ve been thinking of playing online hands for some time now. What makes me hesitate is that I might lose that sense of control that I enjoy so much when I play “traditional” poker. I’m not very excited with the idea that I won’t see the faces of my opponents because I base most of my decisions on spotting tells, and I believe that I’m pretty good at it.

In the live games I play, I don’t really compute for poker odds and such; to be honest, I’m not really a math guy. So when I found out about this online poker calculator, I felt excited. I mean, this is just what I was looking for. It will give me the control that I want in online games, and more than make up for the scarcity of tells. I can’t wait to try it out.
